    Bosch Service - since 1921

The Bosch Service Concept exists since 1921. Only with the invention of the fuel injection pump in 1927, the need also arose for inspection- and repair services, specifically for diesel systems. Subsequently, over the decades, the independent concept of the Bosch Diesel Service developed, which ultimately became today's worldwide network of partner workshops.

Bosch Diesel Workshop Network – A service concept with a tradition

As early as 1921, the first "Installation- and repair workshop of Robert Bosch AG" was opened. Since then the company Max Eisenmann & Co. has been one of the longest established car repair workshops in Hamburg. Just five years later, the official registration of the brand “Bosch Service” as well as its own trademark, the "double T anchor", followed. At that time there were already 20 Bosch service stations that had been set up at key transport nodes in Germany. The rapid establishment of a global brand also fostered the setting up and expansion of agencies and stores overseas. In 1992, the 10,000th mark was finally achieved with the establishment of the Bosch Service "Peter Müller & Söhne" in Halle. Meanwhile, the associates working in customer service were trained in the company's own training centers in order to provide uniform quality standards to customers around the world.

As one of the world's largest manufacturers of diesel systems and components, from the very beginning, Bosch's mission was to be No. 1 in the development of diesel fuel injection systems. But only with the invention of the injection pump by Bosch in 1927, the development of high-performance diesel drives for motorized vehicles was made possible. Since then, Bosch has established itself as a leading provider of diesel technology and is continuously developing innovative concepts for diesel engines—be it for commercial vehicles or passenger cars. Consequently, the existing Bosch Service concept was supplemented by special workshops, which specialized in the repair and service of diesel systems. Since the 30s, the repair of diesel components has been established as a separate business area within Bosch Service. By the end of the 60s, Bosch had a worldwide network of workshops, which had specialized in this field. There is now a global network of about 3,700 leading workshops, which, as licensed and independent partners of Bosch, cater to fleet operators as well as private customers.

As an all-rounder, the "Bosch Diesel Center" has specialized in the diagnosis and repair of all diesel systems and components. In contrast, the "Bosch Diesel Service" focuses primarily on the repair of diesel components, regardless of the respective technology. The successful concept is based mainly on the combination of the extensive know-how and the Bosch worldwide organization, as well as the highly specialized workshops. In particular, the Bosch Diesel Centers are actively supported in this, because the requirements of customers and the diesel technologies are evolving continuously. And thanks to the Bosch Diesel Service concept, it is ensured that the workshops adapt themselves in terms of equipment and service offering to the ever-changing requirements so as to handle the highly specialized tasks in the market always successfully.
